TAYLOR NAMED ONE OF 130 WOMEN HOSPITAL AND HEALTH SYSTEM LEADERS TO KNOW
Marti Taylor, executive director of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital and chief operating officer of Ohio State Heart and Vascular Center was named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s annual list of 130 women hospital and health system leaders to know. The women represented on the list, who are from institutions across the nation, have faced challenges of running a health care organization head-on. Many wear multiple hats within their health system to promote organization growth as well as compassionate care and diversity at the top. 
 
 
OSU WEXNER MEDICAL CENTER CARDIOLOGIST ELECTED TO BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Subha Raman, MD, was elected to the Society of Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (SCMR) Board of Trustees. Raman assumed the position of Vice Secretary-Treasurer, which starts a five year rotation through the Executive Committee from this position to Secretary-Treasurer, Vice President, President, and then Immediate Past President. Since joining our faculty in 2002, Dr. Raman has developed an international reputation as a leader in cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) through innovations in patient care, research, and education, while furthering the reputation of The Ohio State University as a center of excellence in cardiovascular medicine.
 
 
HERSHBERGER NAMED TO FORBES LIST OF TOP CARDIOLOGISTS IN COUNTRY
Dr. Ray Hershberger, division director of human genetics and cardiologist at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, was named to the Forbes list of top 27 cardiologists in the country. Grand Rounds uses a computer model based on publicly available and proprietary data, including administrative claims data from insurers, practice affiliations, board certifications, disciplinary actions, and academic publications. These data don’t tell how a doctor’s patients do, but they do allow the company to look at how doctors were trained, who they work with, what they prescribe, and procedures they perform.                           
 
 
GORDILLO NAMED BOARD VICE PRESIDENT OF RESEARCH 
Dr. Gayle Gordillo, associate professor, medical director of clinical wound services and director of plastic surgery research in the Department of Plastic Surgery at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, is board vice president of research of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the world’s largest organization of board-certified plastic surgeons and foremost authority on cosmetic and reconstructive surgery.
 
 
MILLER NAMED TO BOARD OF AMERICAN SOCIETY OF PLASTIC SURGEONS 
Dr. Michael Miller, professor and chair of the Department of Plastic Surgery at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, is the American Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery representative on the board of directors of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the world’s largest organization of board-certified plastic surgeons and foremost authority on cosmetic and reconstructive surgery.
 
 
OSU WEXNER MEDICAL CENTER ACCREDITED AS ‘OUTPATIENT STROKE REHAB’ PROGRAM
For the first time, The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s Rehabilitation Services has been accredited as an “Interdisciplinary Outpatient Medical Rehabilitation Program: Stroke Specialty (Adults)” by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) International, an independent, nonprofit accreditor of health and human services, including medical rehabilitation. With this accreditation, Ohio State’s Wexner Medical Center becomes the only CARF accredited Outpatient Stroke Specialty program in the state of Ohio, and one of two programs in the five surrounding states. In addition to this accreditation, the Medical Center’s Rehabilitation Services, including Dodd Hall Rehabilitation Hospital and Martha Morehouse Outpatient Rehabilitation, were also accredited by CARF International for an additional three years in these programs: Inpatient Rehabilitation, Inpatient Brain Injury Specialty, Inpatient Cancer Rehabilitation, Inpatient Spinal Cord Specialty, Inpatient Stroke Specialty Program; Interdisciplinary Outpatient Medical Rehabilitation, Outpatient Brain Injury Specialty and Outpatient Spinal Cord specialty programs.
 
 
YEAGER HAS LEADERSHIP ROLE IN WORLD FEDERATION OF CRITICAL CARE NURSES
Susan Yeager, a certified nurse practitioner at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, has been elected to the Board of Directors for the World Federation of Critical Care Nurses. This international federation is comprised of national critical care nursing associations from more than 40 countries. The Council meets annually, and every two years elects a Board of Directors from its members and associates.
