AMERICAN SOCIETY OF PLASTIC SURGEONS ELECTS JANIS AS NEW PRESIDENT
Dr. Jeffrey Janis, professor and executive vice chairman of the Department of Plastic Surgery at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, was named president of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the world’s largest organization of board-certified plastic surgeons and foremost authority on cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. Janis will take office at Plastic Surgery The Meeting, the society’s annual scientific meeting and will serve for one year.
OSU NEUROVASCULAR LAB EARNS NATIONAL REACCREDITATION FOR VASCULAR TESTING
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s Neurovascular Lab has been granted an additional three-year term of accreditation by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission in vascular testing in the area of intracranial cerebrovascular testing. This latest accreditation awarded to the OSU Hospital Neurovascular Lab demonstrates the facility’s ongoing commitment to providing quality patient care in vascular testing.
OSU NAMED ‘LEWY BODY DEMENTIA ASSOCIATION RESEARCH CENTER OF EXCELLENCE’
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is one of 23 centers in the country designated as a Lewy Body Dementia Association Research Center of Excellence. The over-arching objectives of the Centers of Excellence are to increase patient access nationwide to experts in the diagnosis and management of Lewy Body Dementia and to create a clinical trials-ready network of nationally-recognized research centers for trials in the disease.
NATIONAL MS SOCIETY RECOGNIZES OSU AS ‘CENTER FOR COMPREHENSIVE MS CARE’
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society has recognized The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s MS Center as a Center for Comprehensive MS Care. As such, the center has shown the ability to offer a multi-disciplinary model of care to address the often complex needs of many people with MS. Ohio State’s MS Center offer access to a full array of medical, psycho-social and rehabilitation services delivered in a coordinated fashion where providers share common goals for patient outcomes.
