OSU MEDICAL CENTER DEPARTMENTS RECOGNIZED FOR EXCELLENCE
Several departments at The Ohio State University Medical Center are among the best in the country for quality, according to HealthGrades. Ohio State’s Medical Center, including University Hospital East, was recognized as one of America’s 100 Best in pulmonary care and stroke care. The hospitals received Excellence Awards for critical care and neurosciences. HealthGrades analyzed objective mortality and complication rates across 27 different medical procedures and diagnoses at all of the nation’s 5,000 nonfederal hospitals using 40 million hospitalizations records obtained from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
OSU BURN CENTER RECEIVES DISTINCTION AS ADULT BURN CENTER
The Ohio State University Medical Center has again received verification from the American Burn Association as an adult burn center. The OSU Burn Center received the honor in recognition for its commitment to excellence and providing quality burn care for its patients. OSU is the only adult burn center in central Ohio, one of six verified burn centers in the state and one of 61 in the United States. The American Burn Association verification program is a thorough review program that identifies a burn unit’s resources for optimal care to patients from beginning to end.
