COLUMBUS, Ohio – Harrison Community Hospital in Cadiz has become the newest member of the Ohio State Health Network, which was founded by The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. The health network provides cost savings and educational and professional networking opportunities to member hospitals. In addition, network hospitals are provided access to many resources at Wexner Medical Center.
“The network hospitals work well together, sharing best practices and taking advantage of group purchasing and other efficiencies,” says Peter Geier, COO of Wexner Medical Center. “Patients at Harrison Community will benefit from their hospital joining this partnership.”
Harrison Community Hospital is a 25-bed, full service Critical Access Hospital, offering 24-hour emergency care, inpatient and outpatient services, home health and emergency medical transport to residents in eastern Ohio.
“In the rapidly changing world of healthcare, I believe this type of collaboration is essential for community hospitals which are striving to maintain their identity,” says Kevin Milligan, assistant administrator at Harrison Community Hospital. “The Ohio State Health Network will provide us cost savings, which will allow us to invest in new technology and improve the quality of healthcare that we deliver.”
Other members of the Ohio State Health Network are Barnesville Hospital, Berger Health System, Madison County Hospital, Mary Rutan Hospital, Mercer County Community Hospital, The Ohio State University Health System and Wyandot Memorial Hospital.
