COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State University’s Neuroscience graduate program earned first place in the Spring 2014 Rankings of Top Graduate Programs released by Graduate Programs, which lists the best graduate programs in the county in a variety of fields based solely on ratings and reviews from current or recent graduates.
“No one knows more about the graduate school experience than current or recent graduate students, and we are pleased that Ohio State students are putting such a high value on the education they earned here, and sharing that information with others,” said Dr. Randy J. Nelson, professor and chair of OSU’s Department of Neuroscience.
Program rankings, compiled using data gathered between Sept. 1, 2012, and April 15, 2014, encompass reviews posted by more than 60,000 students participating in more than 1,500 graduate programs nationwide. Ratings are based on a 10-star system (with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best).
Current and recent graduate students are contacted through scholarship entries, as well as social media, to answer questions for the ratings. Each graduate program is assigned 15 ranking categories covering a variety of topics, such as academic competitiveness, career support, financial aid and quality of network.
A graduate program is not ranked until a minimum threshold of graduate student surveys is completed for that graduate program. For specific rankings of the Top 25 Neuroscience Programs, go to the Neuroscience Rankings page.
