COLUMBUS, Ohio – Amanda Lucas (43230) has been named executive director of Harding Hospital at The Ohio State University Medical Center. OSU Harding Hospital serves the central Ohio community with psychiatric and behavioral health services for children, adolescents and adults.
Lucas has been associated with OSU Harding Hospital since 2006 when she joined Nationwide Children’s Hospital to manage joint programs in behavioral health and child and adolescent psychiatry. She currently is the administrator of those programs.
The recruitment of Lucas supports continued growth of the psychiatry program at Ohio State, according to Peter Geier, CEO of The Ohio State University Health System.
"In addition to her excellent management skills, Amanda recognizes the important role of behavioral health services in central Ohio and the potential within our own health system to become a model for serving the needs of people in our community,” said Geier.
Prior to joining Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Lucas had several progressing roles in the behavioral health field with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a master’s degree in counseling education and a master’s of business administration in international business.
Lucas is a member of several professional organizations and has been an invited speaker at conferences around the country. In addition, she has authored articles in several peer-reviewed publications.
OSU Harding Hospital provides the most comprehensive behavioral healthcare services for children and adolescents, adults and older adults in central Ohio. Patients are provided expanded treatment options in addition to an experienced and diversified staff.
