PhyllisTeaterCOLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center will be recognized this week as the first and only two-time winner of the HIMSS Enterprise Davies Award during the 2016 Annual HIMSS Conference and Exhibition in Las Vegas.

Since 1994, the HIMSS Nicholas E. Davies Award of Excellence has recognized institutions for excellence in utilizing health information technology (IT) to substantially improve patient outcomes while achieving return on investment.

“It’s quite an accomplishment to be the first ever two-time winner of this award and I’m extremely proud of the hard work from various teams across the medical center,” said Phyllis Teater, chief information officer at Ohio State’s Wexner Medical Center. “It’s truly a reflection of tremendous partnerships and has positively impacted quality care provided to our patients through technology.”

The Davies Awards program promotes electronic health record-enabled improvement in patient outcomes through sharing of case studies and lessons learned across a wide range of efforts, including implementation strategies, workflow design, best practice development and adherence and patient engagement that have improved patient outcomes.
