OSU WEXNER MEDICAL CENTER REUNITES TRANSPLANT PATIENTS, DONORS, FAMILIES AND STAFF
COLUMBUS, Ohio – More than 850 attendees will gather for the tenth annual Buckeye Transplant Reunion Sunday (8/23) from noon – 2 p.m. in the Ohio Union’s Archie M. Griffin Grand Ballroom, located at 1739 N. High St., to honor former transplant patients, organ donors and living kidney donors.
Reporters and videographers are invited to cover the event.
Featured speakers at this year’s event include Laura Stillion, director of transplant services at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center; Dr. Mitchell Henry, director of the division of transplantation at Ohio State’s Wexner Medical Center; Kent Holloway, chief executive officer at Lifeline of Ohio; and Brock Dietrich, Donate Life ambassador.
Lifeline of Ohio’s Honey Bee will also make an appearance.
Ohio State’s Comprehensive Transplant Center, the area’s only adult transplant center and one of the country’s largest transplant programs, has performed more than 8,000 lifesaving transplants in almost 50 years, including heart, lung, kidney, liver, kidney-pancreas and pancreas transplants. Each year, more than 250 patients receive the gift of life – a transplant at OSU Wexner Medical Center.
