Modern Healthcare names CEO Dr. Hal Paz one of 50 most influential clinical executives

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Dr. Hal Paz, executive vice president and chancellor for Health Affairs at The Ohio State University and chief executive officer of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, has been recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of this year’s 50 Most Influential Clinical Executives.

 

The recognition program acknowledges clinicians working in the health care industry who are selected by their peers and an expert panel as the most influential in terms of demonstrating leadership and impact. The honorees chosen for this award represent exceptional organizations and agencies who are paving the way to better health through their executive responsibility, leadership qualities, innovation, community service and achievements.

 

Under Paz’s leadership, the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center and health science colleges are leading the way in pioneering breakthrough research, educating the next generation of health professionals and delivering unparalleled care. The medical center is expanding outpatient care to better meet the needs of patients where they live and work, and it’s building a new hospital tower, the largest construction project ever at Ohio State, to improve care and serve more people. A new interdisciplinary health sciences center will integrate medical learners to strengthen their interprofessional education.

Paz is leading a bold vision and strategy to move the medical center and health science colleges from a typical health system to a new and innovative health platform that addresses health care needs in innovative, personalized and integrated ways. By identifying nontraditional health care delivery methods, Ohio State is well positioned to care for people when, where and how they need through state-of-the-art digital solutions. Under Paz’s direction, the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center has expanded telehealth service for patients. Most recently, the medical center has partnered with a number of home health care companies to help patients get treatment and recover comfortably at home.
