Richard Silveria, CFO at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical CenterCOLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center has appointed Richard W. Silveria as the system’s new chief financial officer, pending approval from The Ohio State University Board of Trustees.

In his new role, Silveria will oversee finance, information technology, data analytics, revenue cycle, supply chain, managed care, the OSU Health Plan and related areas at the medical center.

Silveria will join Ohio State on April 1 from Cape Cod Healthcare where he currently serves as senior vice president and system CFO.

Silveria brings more than 40 years of experience and expertise serving major academic medical centers and integrated health systems, including three of the nation’s best – University of Chicago Medicine, Boston Medical Center and MassGeneral Brigham. He has a wealth of knowledge in financial operations, strategic planning and payor and provider network development.

Prior to his role at Cape Cod Healthcare, Silveria was executive vice president and CFO at the University of Chicago Medicine from 2017-2021. There, he rebuilt the academic medical center’s finance function, established a corporate-wide risk management framework and maintained UChicago Medicine’s financial health throughout the pandemic.

Silveria earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of Massachusetts Lowell and a master of business administration at Northeastern University.
