COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State University Ross Heart Hospital will hold its second TriFit Challenge triathlon on Sunday (6/22) beginning at 6:30 a.m. at Antrim Park, 5800 Olentangy River Road.
The TriFit Challenge aims to increase awareness about preventing heart disease and to encourage healthy heart activities to change the way athletes, family members and spectators live their lives.
TriFit Challenge participants will swim in Antrim Lake, bike to Ohio Stadium and run through The Ohio State University’s campus, finishing in the Ohio Stadium. The triathlon proceeds benefit cardiovascular patient care and life-saving research at Ohio State’s Ross Heart Hospital and the Davis Heart and Lung Research Institute.
Media representatives are asked to call Media Relations to make arrangements to watch as TriFit Challenge participants conclude the triathlon around 11 a.m. in Ohio Stadium.
This year, more than 1,000 people will participate in the TriFit Challenge, doubling participation from 2013. Each participant will receive an official event shirt, water bottle, swim cap and finisher’s medal. Participants will also be invited to the TriFit Tailgate in the Ohio Stadium, which will have music, exhibitors and refreshments.
The TriFit Challenge is one of events in The Ohio State University’s Ross Heart Hospital Wellness Series.
