Background: Dr. Hannawi was appointed to the faculty of The Ohio State University Department of Neurology in 2015.
General Research: Dr. Hannawi is involved in many research studies that utilize advanced neuroimaging techniques including Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) and functional MRI (fMRI) to track the recovery of consciousness and cognition following brain injury. In addition, he studies neuroimaging biomarkers of small vessel disease of the brain and the use of eye movements as a surrogate for brain functional status.
