Experience and Interests
Melissa has always been interested in both sports and medicine, and those interests drove her career into sports medicine rehabilitation. Before joining the Ohio State's campus location team in 2015, Melissa worked as an outreach athletic trainer at a local high school in Ashville, Ohio, where she gained experience with a variety of sport specific injuries. As part of her athletic training education, she completed an internship with the Washington Mystics WNBA team with focus on injury prevention through jumping and landing mechanics and functional movement patterns.
Her clinical interests include functional movements, return to play progression, ACL prevention/rehabilitation and biomechanics of lower extremities.
