About Me

I’m a counseling psychologist, specializing in sport psychology and trauma treatment/recovery.

My approach to care prioritizes a straightforward and collaborative approach that draws on a client’s insights and strengths to achieve their goals for growth and improvement. I believe the most effective treatment is adaptive and tailored to fit each individual’s unique experiences, values, and needs. My clinical interests include mindfulness, trauma recovery, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, identity development, and sport and performance psychology.

I have spent more than a decade working with elite athletes and performers. In this time, I have learned that creating the best performance does not just happen on the field but comes from enhancing the well-being of the person as a whole. I apply this philosophy to all those I work with, whether they are an athlete, leader, parent, student, or any number of roles and identities. Ultimately, I hope the individuals I work with find themselves living a healthier and more fulfilling life in addition to becoming the best performer they can be.

Throughout my career, I have worked with a wide range of athletes and teams that have achieved goals of winning National Championships, qualifying for the Olympics, and becoming professional athletes in their sport.

Consulting and Related Relationships

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

As of 09/30/2022, Dr. Foltz has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
