About Me
I am a clinical psychologist specializing in sport psychology and trauma/injury recovery at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. My personal background as an athlete fueled my desire to become a sport psychologist. It’s deeply rewarding to support athletes through struggle and triumph and empower them to be their own advocates. I find great joy in meeting athletes where they are and establishing a trusting relationship. I emphasize a judgment-free zone, and my goal is to make my patients feel comfortable and valued. My clinical interests include mood and anxiety disorder, grief, trauma, athletic identity, and sport performance.
I recognize that athletes may struggle with the pressures of performing at elevated levels. My approach is one that prioritizes self-compassion and is highly personalized to meet the unique needs of each person. When patients come to see me, they can trust that we will work collaboratively to find the best treatment plan to help them achieve their sports goals and provide a better quality of life despite setbacks and adversity. By prioritizing mental health, we can strengthen the mind to fuel better performance on and off the field.
My role includes serving as Assistant Professor, Clinical in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. I am a board member at the Clinical and Counseling Psychology Association, and I am a representative on the NCAA Training and Performance Advisory Group.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 09/30/2024, Dr. Edwards has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
