Ryan GoerlitzChief Financial Officer

Ryan Goerlitz has served as the Chief Financial Officer for the Ohio State University Cancer Program, which consists of the James Cancer Hospital and the Comprehensive Cancer Center, since 2021. In this role, Ryan provides strategic oversight of all aspects of financial planning, financial management and business development for the Cancer Program. Ryan also serves as Associate Vice President of Finance for the Wexner Medical Center where he co-leads the finance department. Prior to these roles, Ryan served as Associate Vice President of Finance for the College of Medicine, Office of Health Sciences and Ohio State University Physicians.

With extensive experience in the academic medical center environment, Ryan’s areas of expertise include strategic planning, financial analysis and budgeting, program development, team-building, change-management, and problem-solving.

Ryan came to Ohio State in 2018 from the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) where he worked for over 11 years. His most recent role was chief of staff for the School of Medicine where he provided operational leadership and strategic partnership to the Provost and Dean of the School of Medicine. Prior to that, Ryan held a series of progressive leadership roles in MCW’s finance department. Ryan worked at a public accounting firm as an auditor of non-profit and governmental entities before joining MCW.

Ryan holds an Executive MBA degree from Marquette University and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
