A positive attitude lights the way for staff and patients
Chris Lampkin Sr., Environmental Services worker
“I love helping people smile.”
Custodial worker Chris Lampkin Sr. is filled with a positive attitude that he spreads throughout Ohio State Outpatient Care New Albany daily as he works hard to clean and disinfect the facility – from the hallways on the first floor to patient rooms on the fifth. His animated smile and purpose-driven motivation light the way for many staff and patients.
“I enjoy interacting with people,” Chris says. “Making them smile and feel comfortable gives me a purpose to get up and inspires me to come to work every day.”
Chris, who can sometimes be found in his bright red long-sleeved shirt and matching hat and shoes, feels good about his work and his team.
“Knowing that not only myself but the entire team that I work with in Environmental Services is doing a great job brings me pride. I had never worked with such hardworking people before I came here.”
Chris’s passion for care started as a patient at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
“The medical professionals here are some of the very best that I have dealt with during my medical journey. They saved my life,” he says.
“Now, working with such caring people, from the doctors to the clinical staff, makes me feel like a better person. Everyone, regardless of their role, treats me with respect and appreciates what I’m doing to help our patients.”
