I was born and raised in San Diego, where I lived until I left for college and began my journey to become a physician. Before medical school, I worked in construction, and most of my family still lives in San Diego.
Education and training
My journey to become a physician has taken me everywhere. I earned my B.S. in Human Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. I then pursued an unconventional path to medicine, completing my medical education at the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara, with two years of clinical rotations in Reno, Nevada.
Afterward, I completed my Neurology residency at the University of Central Florida and my Vascular Neurology fellowship at The Ohio State University, where I was fortunate to stay on and continue my career.
What brought you here to Ohio State
My medical training took me all over the world, but I was fortunate to begin my career as an independent neurologist here at The Ohio State University. After completing my Vascular Neurology fellowship at Ohio State, I was offered the opportunity to stay on as faculty. I’ve been here ever since and am grateful to continue growing my career in such a supportive and dynamic environment.
Hobbies and passions
I’m very passionate about sports – I enjoy both watching and playing a wide variety, including soccer, basketball, baseball and tennis. Outside of that, I love traveling, running, spending time with family and friends, and going on hikes with my dog.
Fun fact about me
The dreaded “fun fact” question is always a tough one, but here are a few! I don’t think I’ve ever gone more than a year without having a dog, my favorite color is green, and I’m an avid fantasy football fan, it’s one of my favorite hobbies.
