About Me
I try to provide the best medical care possible to all my patients. I listen to patients and respond to their wishes and concerns in developing a treatment plan.
I specialize in stroke treatment. I became interested in stroke treatment as an intern when I mentored with a stroke neurologist. I’m also interested in the genetic and hereditary aspects of stroke.
I’m involved in a number of clinical trials that relate to stroke treatment and secondary prevention of stroke.
My favorite part about working at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is the intellectual stimulation of my colleagues.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, reading and watching movies.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

Genuinely concerned and tried to help me understand my problem and future improvement.
Wonderfully analytical as he heard my narrative of symptoms providing background for the MRI results. He gave a wealth of information about causes for some of the symptoms I had experienced. He provided welcome reassurance my clinical issues did not appear to be overly serious. He was just plain fantastic.
My was very knowledgeable, friendly, patient and treated me with respect. Explained things to me and answered my questions. I couldn't have asked for a better provider.
Dr. Slivka answered all my questions. Explained the results of the MRI another OSU provider had ordered. He ordered another MRI to get more answers.
Good.
Doctor spent time to listen to me, even though he felt I might've been mistakenly referred to him and would fair better seeing a different specialist. I appreciated not being dismissed because I appear healthy.

Goes mechanical forgot I was a person with real issues and concerns. Basically he started treating me like an idiot with nothing usful to say.
Always professional. I feel confident about my care with him
