About Me
I try to provide the best medical care possible to all my patients. I listen to patients and respond to their wishes and concerns in developing a treatment plan.
I specialize in stroke treatment. I became interested in stroke treatment as an intern when I mentored with a stroke neurologist. I’m also interested in the genetic and hereditary aspects of stroke.
I’m involved in a number of clinical trials that relate to stroke treatment and secondary prevention of stroke.
My favorite part about working at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is the intellectual stimulation of my colleagues.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, reading and watching movies.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 09/30/2024, Dr. Slivka has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
Took time to answer all my questions in terms I could understand.
Felt at ease after talking to the doctor
All good.AZll good
He was the best.
He was a good listener and explained what happened to me..
I felt like my providers focused a lot on my previous visit and didn't show as much concern for my current issues I was there for. Some issues seemed to be shrugged off, and to me they were more important.
The dr was wonderful he explained things to me that were very clear and answered or repeated if I needed him too
Excellent
My experience was good; although, he was unable to help with my chronic condition.
Our cre provider was on time, thorough, honest, and very helpful.
Excellent provider
He seemed to dismiss my concerns as if I wasn't competent to understand. I left without him giving me any explanations for what I am experiencing- as if it is "all in my head". Well , of course it is and it is real! That's why I went to a neurologist!!
He really cared and listened to what I had to say
Everything was excellent
Very informative
Good
Very positive and carinr
Saw Dr. Morevco first. Very impressed he spent lots of time listening to my situation, typing in the notes, evaluating my physical abilities, and explaining my episode. Then he went to discuss with Dr. Slivak. Not as comprehensive but obviously Dr. Slivak had read my notes and discussed me with Dr. Morevco. I was very impressed with both the doctors. Obviously educated on my situation and concerned I knew what was happening.
Very informative, very concerned, very pleasant.
He was extremely knowledgeable, thorough and respectful
Listened but missed details i noticed in visit notes later.
Dr. Slivka explained everything very clearly. He listened well, and answered all my questions about my mother's diagnosis. He was kind and caring, in addition to being highly knowledgeable and competent.
Dr. Yourself has a great way of making a patient comfortable and relaxed. Tells patient information the way they can understand. It

Good provider. I saw him in hospital and out. He was wonderful.
I saw Dr. Slivka as a consultant about a problem typically seen via a CAT scan.
The experience with the Dr. was very good.
Excellent experience
Very knowledgeable and caring
He always knows my history. Very clear & helpful.
Professional & understanding.
All were good experiences, non were bad.
Dr. Slivka is the best - will not go anywhere other than OSU!
Very helpful.
Very calm, never seemed to rush any part of our visit
Very good.
Excellent.
Genuinely concerned and tried to help me understand my problem and future improvement.
Wonderfully analytical as he heard my narrative of symptoms providing background for the MRI results. He gave a wealth of information about causes for some of the symptoms I had experienced. He provided welcome reassurance my clinical issues did not appear to be overly serious. He was just plain fantastic.
My was very knowledgeable, friendly, patient and treated me with respect. Explained things to me and answered my questions. I couldn't have asked for a better provider.
Dr. Slivka answered all my questions. Explained the results of the MRI another OSU provider had ordered. He ordered another MRI to get more answers.
Good.
Doctor spent time to listen to me, even though he felt I might've been mistakenly referred to him and would fair better seeing a different specialist. I appreciated not being dismissed because I appear healthy.
Excellent
