Physician, Assistant Professor
Neurological Surgery
Department: Neurological Surgery
I’m a neurosurgeon specializing in pain and functional neurosurgical disorders. I received my medical training at Loyola University and completed my neurosurgery residency and functional neurosurgery fellowship at the University of Iowa. Prior to joining The Ohio State University, I was the director of the pain and functional program at Houston Methodist, where I also received the Teacher of the Year Award for the 2018-2019 academic year.
My research focuses on using neuroimaging techniques to better identify and predict patients who may benefit from neuromodulation therapy earlier in their treatment. In addition, my research interests include device development and predictive modeling of stimulation therapy and how that improves the localization of device placement. During my time at the University of Iowa, I received an inventor award for our team’s work on developing a new spinal cord stimulator.
As a neurosurgeon, I use forms of stimulation, drug delivery, surgical techniques or ablative treatments to provide symptom improvement and better quality of life. Thanks to the cutting-edge therapies and state-of-the-art facilities at The Ohio State University, I’m able to provide the best treatment options for my patients and pass on my knowledge to medical students, residents and fellows at the Wexner Medical Center.

The provider explained thoroughly the options available for the removal of the Spinal Cord Stimulator device
Very impressed with Dr Dalm. Did not rush me and I had all my questions answered.
I think Dr. Dalm is the best at what he does.
He listened to my concerns and was very informative about my care. It made me feel at ease.
Very nice man, answered all my questions, knowledgeable, hopeful.
Very good service but I'm concerned over end result of my staples on the right side. Two good sized divots in my skull that I think could have been better when compared to the right side
Good
Very professional, undersood my condition, and provided understandable quality information.
Doctor knew why I was there and a pleasant person. He acted human instead of being too into their selves
Doctor Dalm is one of the very best in the country
Excellent
Dr Dalm removed my trial scs and the rep from Medtronic were in the room. Explained all details and were pleasant and helpful.
He made sure all my questions were answered and I understood everything.
All good
Good
He was very interested in any questions and concerns I may have
I did not feel that Dr. Dalm was interested in helping me with my health concern. He only wanted to offer one solution. When going over my chart he mentioned a condition that I had. When I responded in a surprised fashion he said nevermind.
All goodgood
Just ok
Treated me well
The appointment was very short and all that happened in the end was that Dr Dalm asked me some questions and then referred me to another neurosurgeon. I may be wrong but I think that this could have been done over the phone rather than have me drive 30 minutes each way.
Good
Doctor was attentive and answered questions in an easy to understand method
