Biography
I am a pulmonary and critical care physician at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, where I also serve as an assistant clinical professor of internal medicine. I specialize in treating interstitial lung diseases, pulmonary fibrosis, and rare lung conditions.
I believe in a patient-first approach that combines clinical excellence with compassionate care. My goal is to help patients breathe easier and live fuller lives through personalized treatment plans and ongoing support.

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. The best doctor for my condition
Dr Hermann is hands down the most considerate, respectful and caring human. He always gives us his time. We never feel rushed. He provides us options when we ask about scenarios of my health. We feel heard and seen every single visit. He responds to mychart messages very timely.

Dr Hernan was unprepared for my "urgent" appointment. He didn't have the CT scans and kept emphasizing that it was normal for him to not have them. I was concerned that he should have the scans and also surprised that he hadn't read my chart or given any forethought to my visit which I waited about two weeks to see him. He was dismissive, condescending and frankly gave me a very uneasy feeling. I immediately wanted to leave the room and felt very put off by his demeanor and lack of preparedness which he tried to cover up by telling me it wasn't easy to get the scans and normal for him not to have them. The experience was absolutely terrible. I have never experienced such apathy and contempt from a doctor who I was referred to for help. I did express to him that I was concerned that he hadn't been able to properly review my case and offered to try to pull up the images on my phone. He didn't want to see them.
He is knowledgeable and caring. He does not rush his time with me.
It is very important to me to trust my doctor and when I visit with Dr Herman, I trust what he tells me and I have confidence in the treatment plan that he gives to me. Thanks You, Dr Herman

Dr. Herman is the best
Dr Herman took time to look at different options for inhalers for me. We ran some blood test and took a chest x-ray. He called me the next day told me my results and had me take my blood work to my allergist to be retested.

Doc prescribed meds for a cough the has been undiagnosed for six years. Meds working and cough diminished 80%. Yeah. I'm getting my life back.

He doesn't seem to follow through on what he plans to do and although I think he's quite brilliant, he is often times distracted with all the information on the computer when he's trying to talk to me
Dr. Herman went above and beyond expectations by contacting an outside facility to get my imaging from them. He then compared findings and sent me a message with great news that my imaging looked better than the previous one from OSU.
