About Me

As a retinal specialist and surgeon, I have experience treating diabetic eye diseases, retinal vascular disorders, macular diseases, retinal detachments, complex diabetic retinal detachments and traumatic retinal detachments. My passion for eye care comes from the tremendous role vision has in our lives. I continue to study the latest and most innovative techniques for treating eye diseases in order to provide the highest quality care to my patients.

I believe the best way to care for patients is to understand their unique needs and to tailor the care to according to those needs. I approach each patient as if he or she was a member of my own family and I strive to give the kind of high quality individualized medicine I would want for my family.

Ohio State is a large institution with immense resources and cutting edge technologies. I wanted to be in an environment that fosters continuing education and learning, and the Department of Ophthalmology is just the right setting. With a large residency program and fellowship programs in multiple subspecialties, I have the opportunity to help train future generations of ophthalmologists.

Doctor should tell the patient what she is about to do before doing it. At one point she asked for a cotton swab but did not tell me what the purpose of her using this tool was going to be which caused some anxiety. When I asked what she was going to do with the cotton swab her answer was not the most empathetic.
