Department: Psychiatry
As a general psychiatrist, I treat adults with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder and those having difficulty adjusting to life situations. I have additional training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, which is a type of talk therapy designed to help patients understand their unconscious mental activity that can affect feelings and behaviors. I truly enjoy having the opportunity to help people lead more fulfilling lives through the treatments I’m able to offer.
When first meeting with a patient, I develop an understanding of their symptoms and life circumstances. During this time we will review psychiatric, medical and psychosocial information to determine how these factors affect the patient’s overall health and well-being. Together, we will then decide on a specific goal and treatment plan, which may involve psychotherapy, medication or a combination of both.
I like working at Ohio State because of the ability I have to provide individualized specialty care that is both comprehensive and collaborative across disciplines.
In my free time I enjoy relaxing with my family, reading and enjoying the outdoors.

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
