Biography
I specialize in cardiovascular medicine at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. I diagnose and treat patients for various conditions including arrhythmias, coronary artery disease, heart failure and hypertension, and I address heart complicated during pregnancy. My practice also emphasizes preventive measures to help patients achieve their goals and avoid adverse outcomes.
I value getting to know each patient, which helps me create personalized care plans that align with their individual needs and values. I always take the time to clearly explain their conditions and treatment options, and I empower each patient to take an active role in their care.
In addition to my clinical responsibilities, my role includes helping to educate future physicians. I am an assistant clinical professor of Internal Medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.

Consulting and related relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 11/3/2025, Lauren Hassen has reported no relationships with companies or entities.

Dr. Hassen I'd great. She asks questions, answers my questions and takes her time. I never feel like she doesn't have time for me.
She listened to concerns and explained things so we could understand.
Dr. Hassan listened to my concerns and we came up with a plan together. I was happy she included me and how I felt. Thank you Dr. Hassan.
Has ran no tests to prove that I have what she is saying I have. The one test she did run showed no problems.
I liked that my provider took the time to listen to my concerns.
Knowledgeable and communicative
Dr.Hassen is extremely knowledgeable, thorough and patient friendly.
Friendly, but seemed reserved, and guarded. Would provide what seemed like incomplete answers - like she had more to say, or more thoughts about the issue but was choosing not to share them. Seemed like maybe she had a previously determined opinion that was based on facts that were not completely accurate, assumptions rather. That scenario occured a couple of times during my visit, and unfortunately does not build confidence.
Kind and easy to talk to. Willing to share her thoughts on a medicine we discussed. I felt she was being honest with me and willing to listen to what I had to say.
First time meeting this doctor, as my previous cardiologist retired, and she was very nice and put me at ease.
This was the first visit. She was excellent. Very pleasant, informative and thorough.
Excellent. As a first time patient in your system, I was impressed with the time the provider had spent reviewing MyChart to understand my medical history
