Biography
As a psychologist at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I work to determine how mental health affects emotions, relationships, personal healthcare and everyday life. I love being able to play a positive role in people’s transformations as they improve their mental well-being.
I provide compassionate and effective treatment to reduce stress, anxiety and depression for my patients, as well as facilitate their efforts to improve their health, happiness and quality of life.
I love working with the many brilliant, dedicated and caring professionals who are here Ohio State.
When I’m not working, I spend my free time relaxing with my family and enjoying the outdoors. I also enjoy running and meditating, which I find both energizing and therapeutic. These activities help reduce the effects of stress in my own life!

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 11/3/2025, Dr. Thornton has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
