I was there for a second opinion on my fibroids and questioning if I needed a hysterectomy. He had a young female resident with him. She was very nice. He loved talking with her and impressing her. She was empathetic. He was harsh and unempathetic. He referred to the fibroids as tumors, didn't listen to me describing my symptoms and kept throwing around the words cancer and biopsy and mri several times during my 45 minute ultrasound. Meanwhile talked at lengths about his personal life. While feeling my abdomen where the fibroids are he pinched my "fat" by my ribs. He said that bulge isn't caused by my fibroids. After the exam, he didn't recommend the surgery unless I wanted it. He informed me that he had just heard 3 surgeries that had "gone bad" earlier that morning but he said at least he wasn't the surgeon. He asked if I was a smoker when he saw my hemoglobin result. I'm not a smoker. I was dehydrated the day of the test. He said I could drop about 20 pounds when I questioned the HRT he was suggesting wondering if it would cause me to gain weight. He was rude and unprofessional. No doctor should throw around the words cancer, tumor and biopsy during an exam so nonchalantly. Btw my fibroids are benign.
