Biography

I am a general ophthalmologist at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. I regularly care for patients with dry eyes, cataracts, ocular trauma, corneal ulcers, medical glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration. I also specialize in managing ophthalmic conditions for those admitted to the hospital.

Vision is a valued sense that helps us enjoy the world around us. It’s an honor to use my skills to preserve and restore vision and improve ocular health to help people enjoy their lives. I consider it a sacred privilege to care for someone. I greatly appreciate the trust that patients place in me and I care for each as I would my own family members. My patients can expect customized treatment plans tailored to their goals and lifestyles.

During my training, I was exposed to an enormous breadth of ocular pathology, which inspired me to pursue a career in academic medicine. I’m excited to be part of the ophthalmology team at The Ohio State University. There is an incredible sense of community here, which I feel unites and motivates us to selflessly use our talents to help improve the lives of others. I am also proud to help train future physicians in my role as an assistant professor at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.

My research is focused on developing strategies that can improve patient outcomes in ocular trauma cases. I am also committed to improving the quality and efficiency of ophthalmic health care delivery for patients admitted to the hospital. My research has helped to enhance care for patients with orbital compartment syndrome by leading to the development of a new protocol for safely transferring patients between facilities.

In my free time, I Iove spending time with my family including my wife and two daughters. I enjoy long-distance running and baking. You should try my cakes, pies and tarts!
