Biography
I am a primary care sports medicine doctor, which means I specialize in treating non-surgical musculoskeletal issues for patients of all ages. This can include acute sports injuries, overuse sports injuries and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. My goal when providing care is to work with patients to create personalized treatment plans that incorporate their individual goals and medical needs. Additionally, I enjoy working with my patients to keep them as active, healthy and happy as possible throughout their lifetime.
Within family medicine, preventative care is an important area for me. I want to make sure my patients understand healthy behaviors and screenings that can prevent future illness. Medical issues are often avoidable so I work with my patients to manage chronic care issues.
I enjoy The Ohio State University's team-based approach, where I work closely with providers in my specialty and with providers in other specialties such as primary care, orthopedics and physical medicine. This approach encourages good communication and allows us to provide the best coordinated care for our patients. I enjoy the familiarity of the smaller clinics while still having access to the benefits of the larger institution.
In my free time, I enjoy running on the Columbus city bike trails. If I'm not running, you'll likely still find me outdoors, usually working in my yard. I moved from Wisconsin to Columbus because of the great opportunities to train here in family medicine and sports medicine. Since moving here, I've come to love the personality of this city and its people. I've been excited to stay here after finishing my training and continuing to work at The Ohio State University.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

I was beyond impressed with Dr. Kordner. I have seen a number of orthopedics and she gave me a more thorough exam and was more knowledgeable than anyone else. I felt like I hit the jackpot with her!

Dr was right on with describing the procedure, including how long it would take how it would feel potential side effects which by the way I've had none. She even talked through the procedure as to how long it was taking, and where she was at leading up to the end. Overall, I was very impressed.

Dr Kornder explained results of tests ordered by my Primary Care Provider's office. I went a week after an MRI not knowing if the findings required a biopsy. Dr. Kornder put my mind at ease and is following up on another test scheduled by my Primary Care. The problem she is treating me for I first mentioned to another specialist 18 months ago. I feel like finally it's being addressed.
