About Me
I am an orthopedic trauma surgeon who focuses on treating acute injuries, including broken bones, and tendon and ligament tears. I also specialize in treating malunions (improperly healed bones), nonunions (nonhealing bones) and infections after fracture fixation surgeries, among other chronic orthopaedic conditions. I chose this subspecialty of orthopaedic surgery because of the opportunity to care for patients from young adolescents to the elderly and the chance to go to work every day and have an immediate, positive impact on my patients.
My patients can rely on me to address their injuries with the same urgency and attention that I would expect for my own family members. I will clearly explain what is wrong, detail all of your treatment options, and collaborate with you to find the right solution. I also promise to work with each patient throughout the healing process until they reach “graduation day,” the day we can call their injury healed.
I also have the privilege of training medical students, advanced practice providers and resident doctors here at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Just as I find “graduation day” for my patients to be rewarding, the graduation days that we see for our learners are equally gratifying.
In addition to my clinical and teaching duties, my responsibilities include serving as the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery’s vice chair for quality. In that role, I am responsible for helping my colleagues, our department and our medical center deliver the best possible care to our patients.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 09/30/2024, Dr. Harrison has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
Dr Harrison was very personable, and answered all my questions I had a new problem and he addressed it.
Very professional
No bad
Explained things well, including what to expect in healing process.
Care was excellent
Dr. Harrison is always ready to take my information and answer all questions. He has helped me by advising me on what textbook I could purchase to learn more about bone fractures and how to proceed in healing them - both with respect to what OSU will do to accomplish that and what I can do to accomplish it.

Excellent patient care
My care provider was exceptional!
Explained it in a way I knew what was going on. Showed great compassion especially when I started crying (not because of him). Just realized it was going to be another surgery.(first surgery) was not performed by Dr. Harrison. He knew that I was scared and took the time to calm me down.

Kind, comprehensive, patient, reassuring, accessible, responsive
Dr. Harrison really cared about my complaints about my very painful IM Rod in my tibia not once did he try to down play my symptoms or try to dismiss me like all of the other doctors had done to me over the years. I was so relieved that he was more than willing to help me.
My experience with this care provider was entirely helpful and very pleasant. I am happy to be in Dr. Harrison's care for the treatment of my fracture injuries and guidance on improving my overall skeletal condition.
