Biography
I'm an ophthalmologist specializing in glaucoma. I chose this specialty because I love the one-on-one relationships physicians have with their patients. I enjoy getting to know people and improving their quality of life.
I chose to work at Ohio State for many reasons. As an Ohio native, I take pride in our state and its people. When I was a medical student, a family member came to Ohio State and received excellent care. I was impressed with the physician’s ability and compassion. I wanted to be a part of that.
I've always appreciated how procedures like refraction and cataract surgery improve vision. But I was drawn to multifaceted ocular diseases, such as glaucoma. I enjoy the long-term relationships with patients and families as I work with them throughout their treatment.
Preventing vision loss is rewarding. I screen patients to see if they have early signs of glaucoma or other diseases. Early detection helps prevent vision loss.
My patients receive the best possible care. My goal is to give them a thorough eye exam, explain what’s going on, address any fears and answer all of their questions.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

My daughters provider took her time with my special needs daughter, explains my daughters condition and answers all my questions.
She is a great and knowledgeable doctor. Keep it up. She doesn't have bad experience.

Dr. Jain asked questions to make sure I was happy with my surgery.

Dr. Jain spent most of the day with me going over multiple testings, retesting, explaining surgery; was very through. My appt ended up being almost 7hrs long, but bc she was taking care of an issue that required an immediate fix and adding me on for emergent surgery next day.. She wanted to make sure all of the numbers and testing were accurate. I truly appreciate her caring attitude; trying to put me at ease, when it definitely was not an easy appt. Thank you for all of your help!!

Dr Jaine, as always was friendly, courteous and professional from her greeting as she entered, apologizing for her delay, during her examination, and instructions for the future. She was especially pleased with the pressure readings, 6 in right my seeing eye, and 14 in the sightless left. I left overjoyed with the status of my eyes.

She even seemed to take on the mantle of responsibility for the unjustified wait time. We know that she had no knowledge or control of this. It was solely the responsibility of the nurses. I will unhappily endure this if it means I get to see Dr. Jain. She is truly worth it.

I had to wait over 30 minutes for her to come into the room to see me. When she arrived she apologized checked my eye pressure readings and said they were fine. I asked about other tests and she said those would come with my annual check later in the year. She did make conversation with me and walked me over to where I needed to check out.
