About Me
I am a board-certified ophthalmologist at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. I specialize in diagnosing and treating a range of eye conditions, with a focus on glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic and hypertensive retinopathy, and pediatric ophthalmology.
My patients can rely on me for high-quality, compassionate care and clear, honest communication in every encounter. I work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure each patient receives personalized care tailored to their unique needs and vision goals.
In addition to my clinical responsibilities, I am passionate about education and mentorship. I serve as an assistant clinical professor of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, where I help train the next generation of eye care specialists.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

Dr. Mikolaj was pleasant and efficient. He made a conscious effort to get me out of the office and headed home since the weather was bad and I had a long drive.

Dr Mikolaj is an excellent doctor, one of the best I've seen, and I've been to a lot of doctors over the years. He truly cares about his patients. He is very thorough and makes sure I understand his instructions. He prints them out for me, since I have short term memory problems since my stroke. I consider him not just a doctor, but a friend.

Asked questions and listened to my answers. I did express some concern for an eye irritant that feels like something is in my eye and am still not 100% confident that issue has been addressed.

My last e visirs I could not understand what the person taking my medical info said. Most recentlly she poked my eye doing pressure check without waiting for numbing from the drops. Did not seem to care about my comfort from the test.
