About Me
As a rheumatologist at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I am passionate about providing the best care possible to each person who comes to see me. I specialize in treating patients for conditions including psoriatic and rheumatoid arthritis, gout, Sjögren’s syndrome and osteoporosis. I am proud to serve as a leader in our mission to offer optimal care in my role as co-director of the Multidisciplinary Psoriatic Arthritis Clinic.
I prioritize education and always ensure my patients thoroughly understand their diagnosis and all treatment options. I am also honored to have been recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor for the past 10 years in a row (2015-2024) and named to the Castle Connolly Exceptional Women in Medicine list.
In addition to my clinical work, I am actively involved in research efforts. My current projects include clinical trials of novel therapeutics to treat psoriatic arthritis, gout and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).
My role includes helping to train the next generation of physicians. I work with medical students, residents and fellows in the clinic.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

Dr. Mikulik is exceptional, and I am fortunate to have her. On my visit this past week, she listened to my frustrations of my chronic cough of almost a year. After 3 visits to OSU's Urgent Care and a pulmonologist, no one ordered blood work, so she did, and also a chest X-ray and CT scan. I have an appointment with my l new non-OSU doctor this coming Thursday to go over the results. Two of the blood tests are abnormal. I'm so very thankful that she ordered them!

Dr. Mikulik is wonderful. She is very thorough and listens to everything you say, even if it isn't in her field of expertise, in which case she refers you to a doctor that is. She is always in a good mood and makes you feel like she's happy to see you. She is definitely an asset to OSU and I would recommend her to anyone needing a rheumatologist.

Dr is very caring
I had filled out paperwork prior to the visit but I felt as if this was not reviewed - left feeling a bit like I wasn't really understood - I am not a complainer and a very healthy person, so when my GP recommended that I seek an additional opinion, I was eager to do so. Perhaps I will find more information once my blood work is completed.
She listened and offered advice. She looked through my labs and other things from previous doctors and hospital stays which is helpful for seeing the whole picture of what could be going on with me.

Both professionals listened to me babble for a while because I have a novel of issues but they were kind and patient and that helped as I suffer from cptsd and not being heard is so awful. Glad they treated me like a human and not a Petri dish.
The doctor I was to see was behind schedule this particular day, my wait was about 15-20 minutes to see her. Overall, my provider was attentive and informed me of what measures/steps would be taken to improve my condition. There were things though, that I brought up about my medical history that my provider didn't seem to be aware of until I brought it up in our conversation. I would've thought my chart had been reviewed before my appointment so they had some idea of my medical history before seeing me. It's frustrating as a patient to have to keep repeating your medical history when it is already available in MyChart.
She completely dismissed my concerns and didn't listen to what I had to say. She didn't take me seriously as a whole person and only saw what she wanted to see.
Very professional, knowledgeable, personable, attentive, and addressed my issues in such a way that I understood what was going on. An intern was with my care provider and he was awesome as well.

Dr. Mikulik was very nice and direct to tell my my symptoms were very hard to diagnose. She also voiced some potential medications that may reduce my symptoms. She is the first doc to even suggest this In 5 years which gives me a little hope for some relief. I will take that.
