Biography
I am a clinical psychologist at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. I am the Director of the Type 1 Diabetes Experience (T1DE) module, which supports individuals with Type 1 diabetes through individual and group therapy and through caregiver and support groups.
I specialize in health psychology, supporting patients in managing psychological aspects of chronic medical conditions such as Type 1 diabetes, and other complex health challenges like weight management, bariatric surgery, transplant and cardiac rehabilitation. I practice from an Acceptance and Commitment therapy modality, with values being the centerpiece of that work. I try to help people be happier and more fulfilled by taking part in things they enjoy despite inevitable medical or psychological barriers. I work from several therapy approaches but enjoy mindfulness-based work.
My patients can rely on me for high-quality, compassionate care, and honest communication in every encounter. I collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of skilled experts to ensure each patient receives personalized care tailored to their unique needs and values.
In addition to my clinical responsibilities, I am passionate about educating and mentoring the next generation of providers. I serve as a clinical assistant professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.
Personally, I am a five-time Ironman triathlon finisher, and a multiple marathon and triathlon finisher at various levels, including the Xterra World Championships. I enjoy travel and have lived in Ireland and Germany.
