About Me
I became a certified nurse-midwife because I’m passionate about offering women the best reproductive care possible at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
I feel it’s crucial to collaborate with each patient to create a high-quality, evidence-based health care plan that aligns with their unique needs and values. My patients can trust that I’ll always listen to their concerns, address their questions and empower them to make important decisions about their bodies.
I provide well-woman care, contraceptive management including IUD and Nexplanon, preconception counseling, and STI testing and treatment. I also regularly treat conditions such as vaginitis, pelvic pain and dysmenorrhea, and address menstrual concerns.
In my free time, I like to spend time with friends and my significant other. I enjoy binge-watching true-crime documentaries, watching football games and eating spicy food.

She listened to what I had to say.
My care provider was amazing. She walked me through everything she would do, we took breaks to give my body time to calm down. When I was in the extreme pain after the procedure she was able to prescribe a muscle relaxer at a pharmacy near my house, but completely unable to help me during the extreme pain I was in at the appointment due to OSU standards.

Aashka is the only provider at OSU that I still see. I hate seeing OSU providers as the system is typically very overwhelming and cold, but she is the exception to that rule. She is so kind and understanding and provides superior care to that of any other provider I have. If she ever leaves OSU, I will go to whatever practice she works at. I have referred at least a dozen family members and friends to her specifically. I cannot overstate how wonderful she is

This is my favorite care provider. They always listen to my concerns, support my decisions, and provide additional information to help with my health. I truly feel that they have my best interest at heart and provide care for my whole self (physical and emotional), which is extremely important.

I have seen Dr. Patel three times now for gynecological annual exams and follow up concerns. Each time I have seen Dr. Patel, especially during our first visit, I was amazed at the length of time she took to listen to me, answer my questions, and looked for ways to provide additional resource and assistance for my concerns. I felt as if she would take whatever time was needed to listen to me. Most doctors that I have encountered quickly chatted with me and seemed to dismiss some of my comments. That was not the case with Dr. Patel. She listened. She clarified. She was genuine. That provided the reason for me to start utilizing the Ohio State medical providers. Dr. Patel is amazing. She seemed efficient and knowledgeable, and an asset to the Ohio State Medical community.

Of all of my care providers, this provider is my favorite. She spends as much time with me as needed, truly listens to my concerns/medical updates, and immediately puts a plan in action if needed. I recently switched insurance companies and found out that this provider is considered out of network--I knew right away that I would not be switching to an in-network provider if it meant I had to be seen by someone other than this provider. That speaks to how much I respect and appreciate this provider and the services she offers.

Very informative! Aashka also had a student shadowing for one of my appointments, and the student was great as well! I asked them a lot of questions to make the most informed decision possible, and they explained things in an accessible yet thorough way. They were also very mindful of how a gynecology exam can be invasive or triggering and were very clearly committed to making sure I felt comfortable and safe.
