Biography
As a dermatologist at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I see patients whose skin diseases and concerns range from simple to complex, including patients with autoimmune diseases.
I’m very invested in my patients and their health – when I’m in the room with a patient, it’s just me and them. Nothing is more important than focusing on their concerns and conditions while working together with them to generate a plan of care.
In my general dermatology clinics, I treat all ages and conditions, with procedures including full body skin checks, mole checks, acne management and lesion removal. I also co-direct the Multidisciplinary Rheumatology-Dermatology clinic at Ohio State Outpatient Care New Albany, the first and only clinic of its kind in central Ohio. In this clinic, we offer patients with autoimmune skin diseases access to both rheumatology and dermatology in one place, along with the latest advances in diagnostics and therapeutics. I work closely with a rheumatologist to manage patients with connective tissue and autoimmune diseases, including psoriasis, lupus, dermatomyositis, morphea, systemic sclerosis, vasculitis and sarcoidosis.
I also focus on inpatient dermatology, where I specialize in the management of complex medical diseases and severe to life-threatening skin eruptions, including Stevens-Johnson syndrome, DRESS syndrome, skin infections and cancer treatment-related skin reactions.
Outside of my clinical duties, I am a physician informaticist at the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, where I work with physicians and information technology specialists to optimize EMR use to improve patient outcomes.
Finally, I am passionate about providing care to underserved populations. I direct a free clinic through La Clinica Latina for Hispanic patients who are uninsured or underinsured, and for incarcerated individuals at Franklin Medical Center.
When I’m away from work, I like to spend time with my family, and I find joy in reading, running and gardening.

Dr. Corman is an excellent communicator. He always simplify things and makes complex dermatological issues very easy to understand and he readily provides a blueprint to how certain skin issues are going to be resolved with medical procedures if necessary.

I was there for dermatology and the only part that he focused on was back when I mentioned I had itching problems on buttocks as well. He was just focused on getting on Accutane or not. To he honest I was confused. Anyways in future I definitely see AI taking over this kind of job. I could have talked to ChatGPT and the AI would have atleast listened and focused on all my concerns.

Dr. Korman was thorough and took the time to really examine my skin, ask questions, and listen to my concerns. He gave me options for treatment, but I have to say the treatment price ($500/mo with insurance, over $5.5k/mo without) and % efficacy/side effects did not appear a viable option long term. I do appreciate the referral to rheumatology as this, to me, appears to be a more systemic Issue.

Dr. Korman is fantastic. He showed concern and understanding at my report of unpleasant side effects from a major medication I just started, and suggested an easy regimen to try initially to mitigate those side effects. If that didn't work, he said to message him because he had other ideas. I really appreciate his willingness to work with me here because the medication is highly effective.

He looked at all meds that had been described and said how helpfull that was. He did throug exam of all areas of concerns, how long it had lasted. Then he described what it was in terns easy to understand for layman. How to use meds, what they were, what to avoid. Said to connect him in 2 weeks if not better or gone.

He always answers my questions, listened to me and asks me about my preference with treatment (this last time I had a rash on my arm and he asked if I wanted a cream to put on it or if I thought I needed a prescription or if I was going to just live with it). I like that he asks for my thoughts.

The doctor was friendly and professional. He explained the procedure and possible results in a manner that I could understand, but he was in and out of the room. This was not a problem since I know he has to stay on schedule and see multiple patients, but it seems that as a patient you're more of a number than a person. I don't feel this is the fault of the doctor - this is just the way things are.
