About Me
As a hospitalist, I care for patients admitted to the hospital with acute conditions, and serve as their resource for comfort and support. When it comes to the course of treatment, I believe it is important to get to know the patient and gain insight into his or her unique situation. Much of medicine involves treating the disease process as well as the overall person. I have found that developing strong patient-physician relationships leads to the best overall outcomes. In addition to clinical care, I provide answers and guidance for patients and their families during what can sometimes be a very scary, difficult time. I believe that helping patients understand what made them sick and providing the necessary resources following their hospital stay does wonders for maintaining their future physical, mental and emotional health.
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is full of friendly and supportive faculty and staff. Through our camaraderie and teamwork, we are committed to providing top quality care to our patients. I truly enjoy the culture and collaborative atmosphere of our organization.
When I’m not working I enjoy music, spending time outdoors and relaxing with my family. When I have the time for an extended getaway, I especially enjoy international travel and backpacking trips.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 09/30/2024, Dr. Ramey has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
