About Me

I am an endocrinologist specializing in diagnosing and treating metabolic bone and mineral disorders including osteoporosis, and Paget’s disease. I help patients manage diabetes, and I treat disorders affecting the thyroid, adrenal and pituitary glands. I also see patients in a dedicated Fragility Fractures Clinic every Friday here at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

My patients can rely on me for thorough and compassionate care. I work with patients to customize treatment plans that best suit their needs and goals.

In addition to my clinical responsibilities, I also help educate the next generation of physicians. I am a clinical assistant professor of Internal Medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.

My care provider did not give me the answers to my concerns. He would cut me off when trying to explain symptoms. He did not listen to me or my mother's concerns at all. At one point he laughed at me. I wanted a routine ultrasound of my thyroid like I get yearly and felt like I was pulling teeth just to get him to order that test. I left there feeling defeated and unheard and I am a medical professional myself and I have never been treated that way at any other visits with others.

Did not listen to my concerns. Did not explain diagnosis or what was going on.

I had a disappointing experience with my recent doctor's visit. Unfortunately, I felt dismissed and not heard. The doctor came into the visit with his mind made up. It was apparent with the first sentence " I don't know why you are here" and it was obvious he didn't review my lab results, which I had expected would be an important part of the consultation.Furthermore, I was taken aback when my endocrinologist's expertise wasdismissed . As someone seeking care, it's essential to feel confident in the medical team's collaborative approach.Additionally, I found the doctor's comments about my symptoms and that they must be menopause due to my age disappointing. If he would have checked my medical records, he would have seen that my OB and endocrinologist had already tested for that. Saying I needed to workout and eat better in regard to my weight gain to be unprofessional and insensitive. These remarks were not warranted to my health concerns, and I felt they were inappropriate. I was offended in every way a woman could be offended and everything was dismissed. To top that off the homophobia was appalling. By telling myself and my partner that "it's not like you two want more children, anyway", is absolutely disturbing. I'm aware people have these thoughts but to hear a professional say them aloud in 2025 is egregious. Overall, I hope that future patients will receive more respectful and comprehensive care.
