Biography
I’m a nurse practitioner in the hematology/oncology division at the OSUCCC – James. My specialty is caring for patients with new or relapsed acute leukemia. The lives of patients who suffer with acute leukemia change immediately upon learning of their diagnosis. They’re usually hospitalized initially for about a month and receive intensive chemotherapy.
I love getting to know these patients and helping them adjust to their new reality and the stress that comes with it. I focus not only on the patient, but also family and social support systems. All are needed to ensure successful outcomes during and after treatment for acute leukemia.
The James is the best cancer treatment center in the region. Everyone here – the physicians, nurses and support staff – provides encouragement and support as we work toward helping our patients overcome this disease. It’s a great place to work, and a wonderful place to receive treatment for any form of cancer.
