Biography
As a rheumatologist at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I specialize in treating scleroderma and mixed connective tissue disease (MCTD), and I serve as the director of the Rheumatology Infusion Center. I also regularly care for patients with conditions including lupus, gout, rheumatoid arthritis and spondyloarthropathy (forms of spondyloarthritis).
I appreciate that a patient-centered approach is at the forefront here at the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center. I am proud to work alongside such exceptional and committed colleagues to deliver the best outcomes possible for my patients.
I am driven to make a positive impact on each patient’s life, and the opportunity to establish long- term relationships with them is deeply rewarding. My patients can rely on me for guidance and support throughout every turn of their health care journey.
In addition to my clinical responsibilities, my role includes teaching future clinicians. I am a clinical associate professor of Internal Medicine and I serve as director of the Rheumatology Fellowship program.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and caring for my pets. I enjoy exercising, golfing and traveling internationally.

Dr. Ajam is a great doctor and very knowledgeable and caring
No bad experience
Dr. Ajam is exceptional! He is kind, empathetic, and truly takes the time to listen. He not only addresses my rheumatologic concerns thoroughly but also consistently checks in about my other medical problems. He never makes me feel rushed and always spends ample time during appointments. After lab work, he personally follows up by phone or via MyChart message. Whenever I send a question through MyChart, I receive a prompt response. I am very thankful for the care that Dr. Ajam provides.
Listens, explains, understands. Very patient.
Dr Ajam is the best. He always takes time to listen to me and answer all of my questions. He never makes me feel rushed. He makes me feel like a partner in my healthcare, not just like I have to do what says.
He spent the usual time with me. I always feel in comparison with some of his very disabled patients he doesn't realize how my concerns and symptoms interfere with my quality of life.
He is amazing. Listens discusses and makes goals for my health. Very personable
He was very attentive and friendly. He took time to listen carefully and explained as needed. He was very knowledgeable about my condition and history and his own field - very impressive
Dr Ajam is the doctor that finally looked at my conditions and saw past my weight to diagnose me with what was really wrong. I only wish I had seen him years earlier.
