About Me

Gastroenterology is, in my opinion, a unique specialty because it’s one of the busiest specialties and incorporates medical approaches with endoscopic evaluation and treatment.

As a physician, I take the time to listen to my patients’ concerns as well as keeping them involved at every step of care, and I work to address their symptoms and any possible diagnosis. I understand that many conditions that I treat affect more than one part of the body. In order to gather information beyond what patients can provide, I perform screening and diagnostic upper and lower endoscopies and corresponding polypectomy, biopsies, control of bleed as well as balloon enteroscopies, capsule endoscopy and pH monitor placement. I tailor treatment plans based on each patient’s needs, applying the latest therapies while helping them manage symptoms. I also consult with our behavioral health and nutrition specialists to help patients work through any emotional or dietary challenges.

I’m proud to work at a large academic medical institution that prides itself on high-quality care and collaborative efforts. By educating and treating patients on a daily basis, I’m contributing to public health on a small scale, but it will continue to make a difference in the long term, and I hope to see that impact grow as my career advances.

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I supervise and teach medical residents, GI fellows and medical students as they rotate trough GI services. I also spend time researching occult obscured GI bleeds and small bowel diseases when I’m not treating patients.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, sports (swimming, jogging) and traveling.

Obviously very well educated and listened to my problems

  • Reviewed on Apr 11, 2024

I have been dealing with an unknown illness impacting numerous systems of my body and declining health for over a year; having seen several healthcare providers from various disciplines resulting in more questions than answers. Right from the start, the care provider was unwilling to hear any concerns unrelated to the referral topic and did not ask many questions to determine the full nature of my visit or extent of my health issues, when clearly there is more going on with my health than simple acid reflux. Aside from generally being very dismissive, the care provider challenged some of the things I said I was struggling with, as though I'd lie or misrepresent my health issues. To have a care provider be so dismissive and unwilling to listen to my concerns was very demoralizing and upsetting to the point that I had an anxiety attack later that day.
