I am a nurse practitioner in the Division of Medical Oncology at The James, where I specialize in treating melanoma and other skin cancers such as basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and Merkel cell carcinoma. I am passionate about this particular field because of the prevalence of skin cancers across adult populations.
I believe that skin cancers are preventable and curable with early detection and screenings, and my colleagues at the OSUCCC – James share in this belief. We work in an area of oncology where targeted treatments and immunotherapy is constantly evolving, and we strive to provide different options and develop treatment plans that are personalized for every one of our patients.
In addition to my work at the OSUCCC – James, I am a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the Ohio Association of Advanced Practice Nurses, and have volunteered at the Columbus Free Clinic as well as the Mid-Ohio Foodbank. I am also interested in community education and have participated in departmental cancer screenings with the Head and Neck Cancer group.
