About Me
As a physician assistant working in sports medicine, I specialize in sports-related injuries of the hip and knee joint. When I am not seeing patients in the clinic, I assist a number of our sports medicine physicians in the operating room. I am very passionate about my career in orthopedics sports medicine because of the welcome challenges of helping patients return to regular functioning and everyday activity. My focus is to provide compassionate, patient-centered care. Some of the most common injuries I encounter are hip and knee osteoarthritis, femoroacetabular impingement and ligamentous and tendinous injuries.
I enjoy working at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center because of the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships with the faculty, staff and patients that I interact with on a daily basis. I am very proud to be a part of this world class medical center.
In my free time I enjoy cycling, hiking and coaching lacrosse.

Thorough, kind, attentive, easy to understand
Very pleased he was able to give my injections as my usual provider was sick and I was only home for a short time
He sat down and was attentive and knowledgeable. He was enthusiastic and easy to talk to. He was a great pleasure to see and I left with a smile.
Anthony Ciammaichella is one of the best PA I have seen in a very long time. Being on Medicaid, you don't get the best health care providers all the time and I when I first met Anthony Ciammaichella I knew that wasn't going to be the case. He is a wonderful person inside and out, he doesn't treat differently because I'm on Medicaid and that is just a wonderful thing to know. He definitely deserves everything that OSU can give him and I hope that I will continue to see him for many years to come since I have a chronic issue with my knees. Thankyou for reading this and I hope that you will read this back to him. Have a good day
Knowledgeable and thorough
Good
Listened to me and actually made me feel as if they have MY best interest and setting me up for better quality of life.
The provider did not project a perception of knowledge of my medical condition - said he would have to check if the treatment would have an adverse effect on my heart history. He did leave me with a level of confidence.
I love Dr. Anthony so much that I'd decided to have my second hip repaired in 2020 along with Dr. Vasileff. They provided wonderful care to me. I certainly appreciate all that they did for me.
Attentive & worked with me to come up with best course action.
My care provider was amazing! Explained everything I needed to know to prep me for my upcoming surgeons.
He spent enough time with me, explained everything well, and listened to me.
Dr. Anthony was a delight to work with. He is competent and caring. I wanted to be sure there was no bone break from my injury to my elbow. His tone, touch and competence won the day.
good at explaining things, not as good at handing concerns
