Academics and research
I am an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Medicine - Anesthesiology, and I specialize in anesthesiology and anesthesiology/pain management. My research focuses on spinal cord stimulation, spinal cord injury, and outcomes-related studies using retrospective analysis to better understand treatment effectiveness and patient safety.
My work explores the use of spinal cord stimulator implants in pain management and investigates clinical patterns and incidental findings that can influence care decisions. I am particularly interested in advancing knowledge around complex cardiovascular and neurologic interactions, including conditions such as sinus of Valsalva abnormalities and atrial fistula, and how they intersect with anesthesiology practice.
Through my research, I aim to contribute to improved, data-driven approaches that enhance procedural care, optimize pain management strategies, and support better outcomes for patients across a range of clinical settings.

Consulting and related relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

Reassuring gave instructions what he was doing along the way
All good
My experience with Dr. Anthony Nguyen was deeply concerning. He minimized my symptoms, told me I had no pain requiring treatment, compared me to other patients by saying I had the "best imaging" of the patients he saw that day, and did so while looking toward my shoes and the floor rather than engaging me directly. He minimized the radiologist's expertise regarding severity by stating that radiologists only read images. He did not perform any physical, neurologic, gait, Straight Leg Raise, Slump Test, or strength examination, yet the note documented exam findings.
Well versed on my pain specifics
Experience was very positive. No bad experienced
