Biography

I am a professor of clinical neurology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

I specialize in neuromuscular medicine and clinical neurophysiology. My academic career began at The Ohio State University College of Medicine in 2005. Aside from treating adults with neurological diseases, I also manage the Muscular Dystrophy Association Care Center and our electromyography laboratory.

As part of my role, I also train the next generation of clinicians and scientists. Currently, I am the director of the clinical neurophysiology and neuromuscular medicine fellowships.?

Over the course of my career, I have strived to advance the academic mission through patient-centered clinical services, education and research. In my philosophy, these pillars of academic mission are interconnected and collaboration and engagement lead to the best results.?

The doctor is fantastic! Normally I hate being interrupted because I lose my train of thought. But Dr. Bakri always got the information he needed and brought me back to where I left off at. I didn't mind when he interrupted! He made me feel like what I was saying was important!

Dr El Sheikh always cares about my problems with my CIDP and other autoimmune diseases. He is an extremely great doctor and I owe him a lot for believing me and finding my problem and caring enough to treat me and go above and beyond to get me the medication I need to help me.

Dr. Elsheikh was so kind and caring taking the time to hear about my stresses over the past few months and taking all my concerns seriously. I left feeling understood and cared for as a person and not just a patient.
