About Me

With more than 20 years of nursing experience and 11 years as a nurse practitioner, I’m passionate about providing the best care for my patients and implementing evidence-based solutions for improved outcomes in cardiovascular disease. I primarily treat patients with coronary artery disease, hypertension, heart failure, arrhythmias and valvular heart disease. I show patients I’m invested in their health and well-being by making them feel validated and keeping them in the loop. Before creating a care plan, I get to know more about my patients to have a better idea of what will get them back to a quality life. I listen to questions or concerns and make sure to keep in mind anything that’s important to the patient throughout diagnosis and treatment.

The support of my fellow cardiac physicians, nurse practitioners, administration and leadership allows me to practice autonomously but collaboratively. I’m excited about having more opportunities to advance my career in cardiovascular medicine, even outside of clinical care. For example, I’m proud to mentor advanced nursing students from The Ohio State University College of Nursing.

One of my research interests is uncontrolled hypertension. I stay up to date with the most recent lipid management and hypertension guidelines to aid my projects. For my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, I’m working on a project about controlling blood pressures with medication and lifestyle modifications. In the coming months, I also plan to work with Jim Liu, MD, in establishing a hypertensive clinic at our Upper Arlington location.

When I’m not at work, I love golfing, playing the piano, traveling, making specialty cakes and spending time with family and friends.

I wished she would have heard what I was saying about my recent episode with my heart and responded to that rather than not addressing or discussing the events that I told her led up to that episode occurring. I could've used a bit of validation on the situation that caused the episode and how that activity could've possibly affected that episode happening. The episode being the left chest/heart pain "attack" when playing basketball after not getting much physical activity for months/being sedentary.
