Biography
I became a cardiologist because I am passionate about helping my patients achieve optimal heart health. I treat a variety of cardiovascular conditions and evaluate new patients to determine their specific diagnosis. I commonly care for people experiencing chest pain, shortness of breath and dizziness. I also treat coronary heart disease, arrhythmias and heart failure, and perform tests including echocardiograms, heart CTs and nuclear stress exams. I’m excited to continue my career here at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, where the collegiality is unparalleled.
I enjoy building long-term, trusting relationships with my patients, and that begins with excellent communication. Patients can rely on me to clearly explain their diagnosis and treatment options, thoroughly answer all questions and help them navigate the health care system as we work together to improve their health.
One of my career goals is to advance educational initiatives that enable future physicians to better understand heart health and help them offer their patients the highest-quality care possible. In addition to my clinical work, I focus on medical education and global health. My research has been published in peer-reviewed journals, and I have delivered poster presentations around the country. Here at the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, I also help train and mentor medical students in the clinic.
When I’m not working, I am busy keeping up with my two children and my dog. I enjoy biking, hiking, tennis, reading and traveling.

Consulting and related relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 11/3/2025, Blair Suter has reported no relationships with companies or entities.

Went into detail info of questions I asked.Very pleased with explanations.
Excellent detailed
Excellent knowledge in his field
Good
I felt like my provider made a lot of assumptions based off of my past ER visits. During one particular visit to the ER, my heart rate was in the 140s. I tried to tell him this, and he said no it's documented that it is in the 60s. I had to pull up my AVS and show him that my heart rate was actually documented in the 140s. I feel like he was also basing my health on imaging that was done years ago. Overall, I am disappointed with the visit. I felt unheard.

Provider was Excellent.
Excellent concern
Dr Surer is so kind. He actually took the time to listen to me. I am so glad I waited for him. I was offered an appointment with a different doctor but declined and so grateful I did. He was worth the wait. My original appointment was canceled but I read his bio and whoever wrote it did a great job. He really is compassionate and takes time to explain why is going on.
