Biography
I’m a urologist, with a major focus on the management of kidney stones. At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we perform more than 500 surgeries a year related to kidney stones.
My goal is to personalize the health care delivered to each patient. I work with my patients to develop individualized treatment plans. Effective treatment of stones can provide relief of an acutely painful episode and also reduce future stone recurrences. Such treatment can significantly improve a patient’s quality of life.
My wife, Dr. Eunice Oppenheim-Knudsen, is a family practice physician who works at Ohio State’s Wexner Medical Center’s Upper Arlington Clinic. We both enjoy living in the Columbus area and working at a top tier medical center. We strive to maximize the quality of life for our patients.

Consulting and related relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
