Biography
I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) at the Ohio State, links my patients with community resources and provides short-term mental health therapy with a focus on depression and anxiety. I work with psychiatry and primary care teams at Ohio State University to provide psychiatric, collaborative care management to patients.
My therapeutic approach is interpersonal in nature. I strongly believe in meeting the individual where they’re at, and enjoys assisting them in finding hope, and more fulfilling personal and professional lives. I use relaxation/stress reduction techniques, supportive listening, general coping strategies, goal-setting, behavioral activation and patient education to help my patients grow.
Depending on the situation of the patient in question, I employ such therapeutic approaches as Brief Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, Mindfulness and Client-Centered Therapy.
I started in my current position in 2017, after spending 10 years practicing medical social work with a neurological focus. Prior to that, my graduated with honors from Otterbein University with a Bachelor of Art in psychology and completed my Master of Social Work degree at The Ohio State University. Post-graduation, I participated in multiple trainings for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I was inducted into The International Honor Society in Psychology in 2004.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 11/3/2025, Dr. Anstine has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
