Department: Psychiatry
I am a board-certified nurse practitioner focused on diagnosing and treating patients for various psychiatric conditions during times of crisis. In my role at the Behavioral Health Urgent Care Clinic at Harding Hospital, I assess the patient and provide access to the most appropriate care. Patients can expect compassion, support and empathy during each visit with me. I listen closely to their concerns to ensure their unique needs are met.
I decided to pursue psychiatry after 13 years providing respiratory care in emergency and intensive care units, where I saw how hospitalization impacted my patients’ mental health. Mental health is a fundamental aspect of overall well-being and influences how we think, feel and act. It plays a critical role in our ability to manage stress, build relationships and navigate life's challenges. Prioritizing mental health promotes emotional resilience, better decision-making and improved quality of life. Treating mental health with the same urgency as physical well-being can lead to healthier, more fulfilling lives, and it’s a privilege to help my patients achieve a better quality of life.
I earned my Master of Science in nursing degree in psychiatric mental health from The Ohio State University, and I’m excited to share my expertise with the next generation of providers. I serve as a preceptor for nurse practitioner students at The Ohio State University College of Nursing.
When I am not working, I enjoy hiking, gardening, traveling, and spending time with my family.
